North Shore Bank recently announced  that during the month of April it provided $150,000 in direct funding to a number of area non-profits — in particular, local food pantries and other social service agencies that serve the needs of the most vulnerable. Recognizing the burden that the COVID-19 outbreak has had on many of these organizations, the bank’s goal was to help blunt the immediate economic impact, while allowing them to concentrate on their crucial day-to-day operations.

According to Kevin M. Tierney, Sr., North Shore Bank’s Chief Executive Officer:

Given the unprecedented scale and suddenness of this pandemic, North Shore Bank is fully committed to providing assistance to the community during this challenging period. Whether through philanthropic endeavors such as these or through our regular day-to-day banking operations, the bank recognizes that we are all in this together and is pleased to be in a position to assist the community where it is most needed.
