North Shore Bank personnel stopped by the 16 Trinity Street, Danvers headquarters of Operation Troop Support recently and presented the group with a check for $1,500. The proceeds of this donation were raised by bank employees as part of their weekly “Jeans Day” program.

In May, Operation Troop Support was nominated by the bank’s staff.  Jodi Houghton, North Shore Bank’s Branch Manager in their Danvers location said:

Operation Troop Support has become such a fixture throughout the North Shore — when we were discussing Jeans Day nominations for May, with the Memorial Day Holiday coming up they were the natural choice.” She went on to say, “Seeing what they do for the brave men and women who serve in our military is truly inspirational. We’re really happy to be able to assist them in such a tangible way.

Established in March 2003, Operation Troop Support (OTS) is a 501(c)(3) organization serving deployed men and women in uniform, as well as their loved ones back home. OTS offers a variety of programs ranging from the overseas distribution of care packages to the coordination of military family support groups to the supply of comfort items to military hospitals stateside and abroad. In fact, OTS has sent its 980,000 package to active-duty military personnel around the globe since its inception.
This contribution from the employees at North Shore Bank means so much to our organization and to the men and women serving. The timing of this contribution couldn’t have been any better, as it will help us defray some of the mailing costs that we will incur sending packages to overseas troops.” He added, “Operation Troop Support relies on the ongoing generosity of individuals, schools, churches, civic groups and of course businesses like North Shore Bank.
