North Shore Bank representatives recently visited the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Beverly to present them with a check for $1,500. The proceeds were raised by Bank employees as part of their weekly “Jeans Day” program. Each Friday, in exchange for $5, bank employees are allowed to wear jeans. At the end of the month the accumulated funds are then collected and donated to a local non-profit organization that was chosen by the staff.

On April 15th, Team Lahey will be running in the 123rd Boston Marathon to raise money for Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Beverly Hospital.

Suzanne Kolodziej, a Personal Banker in North Shore Bank’s new Beverly branch suggested Beverly Hospital as a recipient for their Jeans Day program. Kolodziej’s niece, Ashley Spongberg is a Surgical Technologist at Beverly Hospital and a member of the Team Lahey Running Team.

Kolodziej said:

When my niece Ashely told me what she was doing, it was hard not to be inspired. I knew the bank’s Jean’s Day Program would be a great opportunity to help her raise money.” She continued, “The bank’s employees have always been so generous.  I was thrilled to see them step up for such a great cause.

Rebecca Imperiali, Vice President of Philanthropy at Beverly Hospital and Addison Gilbert Hospital said:
We are honored to have Ashley running the 2019 Boston Marathon as a member of Team Lahey.  She has pledged to raise $12,000 toward the surgical suite at Beverly Hospital in recognition of her colleagues who rallied behind her in a big way after she was diagnosed with epilepsy.” She went on to say, “We are a community hospital caring for our community, and we are grateful to the North Shore Bank community for supporting Ashley's quest. Together, we are making an important difference in the lives of thousands of patients who receive care each year at Beverly Hospital.
