Abington Bank Donates $50,000 to NeighborWorks Housing Solutions
Abington Bank, and its charitable giving program, The Giving Tree, recently awarded $50,000 to NeighborWorks Housing Solutions (NHS), in support of their mission to provide housing, housing resources, and financial education to families in need.
The Giving Tree reflects the roots we have in our communities, our commitment to making a real difference in the neighborhoods we serve, and our belief that we can enhance everyone’s quality of life if we work to solve our biggest problems—together. According to Abington Bank President and CEO Andrew J. Raczka, the bank selected NHS because of the nonprofit organization’s longstanding commitment to a “more than housing” approach, in which stable, affordable housing is a pathway to individual and family wellbeing and community economic vitality.
“For over 50 years, NeighborWorks has focused on providing families in Southeastern Massachusetts with a variety of services, including rental assistance, homelessness prevention, and financial support,” said Raczka. “We are thrilled to provide NHS with the necessary funding to further develop these essential programs in the communities they serve in order to help unlock potential for local families.”
“We are grateful to Abington Bank for their very generous support of our mission and our work,” said Robert Corley, CEO of NHS. “Abington Bank is truly a leader in the region in helping us address some critical housing issues facing people in our community. They are a great partner.”
